  • Driver license or state issued picture ID card
  • Copy of last year's tax return
  • Social security cards for you, your spouse, and your dependents (as applicable)
  • Copy of voided check if direct deposit or direct debit is desired
  • W2s

Do review your W2s to ensure the name is spelled correctly and the social security number is listed correctly.  If not, a new W2 will be required from the employer.

Remember that job that only lasted a couple weeks.  Make sure you have the W2 for it also.

If your company changed organization structure or payroll provider, you may have 2 W2s for the same job.

This is not a complete list.  Other items needed may come up in the interview.  The more complete information on hand at the appointment the more likely we can complete the tax return and e-file without requiring a return visit.  If you think you might need it, bring it.  I’ll be happy to discuss items needed in your specific situations prior to your appointment.
